Pablo Sánchez
Dr. Pablo Sánchez is the system administrator of MARBITS. He obtained his PhD at the Polytechnical University of Catalonia (UPC) in 2012, working on fish aquaculture and population genetics. At the same time he was assistant lecturer at UPC and at the University of Girona (UdG), teaching bioinformatics and genetics among others. In 2013 he joined the Department of Marine Biology and Oceanography as post-doc, working mainly with metagenomics data from the Malaspina Expedition. His research interests are exploring the taxonomic and functional diversity of marine microbial communities through environmental genomics and transcriptomics, as well as the analysis and reconstruction of Metagenome Assembled Genomes (MAGs) and Single Amplified Genomes (SAGs) from marine ecosystems.
